How does your inner critic respond when you try something new? There is no better way to explore how your inner critic shows up than to try something new in a creative pursuit. You can use your creative outlet as a peek behind the curtain. Your inner critic is responsible for keeping you small. What happens when you get out of your comfort zone is a mirror that can be both uncomfortable and enlightening.

You may feel that you are not creative, so you might not be giving yourself permission to experiment. Creativity is natural to all of us. Children are much better at playful creativity than most adults. Their inner critic is not fully formed.

Give yourself permission to be creative instead of striving for perfection. Allowing playful experiences into your life is one of the most important things you can do for your success and well-being.
